Food security challenges for Pakistan during COVID‐19 pandemic: An overview of the response plan

The COVID-19 pandemic has imparted a significant impact on the global economic conditions. food security status in developing and under-developed countries is getting worse with progression of pandemic. According to World Food Program (WFP), 271.8 million people were acutely insecure due destructive across world. Similarly, around 20%–30% population Pakistan, that is, 40–62 people, been suffering from acute insecurity pandemic, other socio-economic environmental/climatic issues. highly vulnerable groups include daily wage class, refugees, living drought-affected areas, locust-affected areas winterized emergency. response plan Pakistan aimed at improving situation protecting livelihood demographic through defining implementing policy for ensuring uninterrupted production supply chain, integrating system into relief packages, adopting innovative practices enhance functionality chain market, treatment malnourished affected by insecurity. Accordingly, this opinion-based article reports challenges faced era explicates government policies stabilizing agri-food systems Pakistan.
